Skirail in the Haut-Garonne Pyrenees

Skirail: train + ski

Skirail makes skiing accessible by combining two services in one: the train from Toulouse and the day ski pass. No headaches, just the essentials for a day in the mountains. You arrive at Luchon or Marignac-Saint-Béat station, and in just a few minutes you’re on the slopes.

At the initiative of the Occitanie region, three resorts are taking part in this offer: Luchon-Superbagnères first, with its established mountain character and slopes for all levels. Then there’s Peyragudes, within easy reach of Luchon for those looking for a real mountain experience. And then there’s Le Mourtis, a more family-friendly resort just over the Col de Mente.

What’s in it for you? Avoid the snowy winter roads and enjoy a relaxing day out. Taking the train is easy: no traffic jams, no stress. And the price makes all the difference: journey and package all in one. Whether you’re in Toulouse or the Luchon valley, it’s a simple and pleasant way to go skiing or hiking in the mountains without the hassle.

43€

Skirail Luchon-Superbagnères

At just €43, the Skirail “Luchon-Superbagnères” offer is a great opportunity for a day’s skiing with family or friends. From 1 December 2025 to 30 March 2026, this package offers you everything you need: the return journey from Toulouse, your ski pass for the day, access to the gondola and the free VALI shuttle(Line 1) which takes you directly from the station to the resort in just 15 minutes.

The organisation is designed to leave you plenty of time on the slopes. At weekends and during school holidays, liO trains leave in the morning, arriving in Luchon at around 9am and returning in the late afternoon. During the normal school week, trains leave a little earlier to maximise your time on the slopes. From the moment you arrive at the station to the first slopes, you only have to wait a few minutes. It’s a simple, practical and clever way to enjoy a day on the mountains without having to worry about organisation.

Skirail Peyragudes

At €49, Skirail Peyragudes gives you access to the mountains without the hassle. From 1 December 2025 to 30 March 2026, everything is included in a single pass: your train journey from Toulouse or the intermediate stations, your day’s skiing, the free Vali shuttle that takes you from Luchon to Les Agudes(Line 2), and even a discount at the equipment hire shops. Lockers in the car park complete the package, so you can store what you don’t need to take to the slopes.

The concept runs every weekend from 13 December 2025 to 29 March 2026, as well as during the two school holiday periods (20 December 2025 to 4 January 2026 and 7 February to 8 March 2026). In the morning, you board the liO train no. 872823, which leaves Toulouse-Matabiau at 7am and drops you off at Luchon at 8.57am. In the late afternoon, liO train no. 872824 will take you back: leaving Luchon at 5pm, arriving at Toulouse-Matabiau at 6.55pm.

Alone, with the family or with friends, the procedure is the same: you book, you get on the train, a Peyragudes representative waits for you in Luchon with your lift pass, then it’s off to the resort by shuttle. After a day on the slopes, it’s a leisurely ride back to town. The only downside is that places are limited, so don’t delay in booking. A package that really transforms access to the mountains.

Skirail Le Mourtis

Skirail Le Mourtis is the train to Marignac-Saint-Béat, then the Vali shuttle(Line 3) that takes you to the slopes beyond the Col de Mente. Simple, direct and efficient. Everything is included in a single pass: your return journey from Toulouse or the intermediate stations, your day’s skiing, and the free shuttle bus that makes the connection. Bonus: the train journey gives you time to enjoy the view of the Pyrenees before you even get to the resort.

With the family, friends or on your own, it’s the same principle: you choose your date, board the train, and Line 3 VALI will take you to the slopes. At the end of the day, take the shuttle back to Marignac, then take the train back to Toulouse. No headaches, just mountains and comfort.

Tickets open on 1 December, and as with all Skirail offers, places are limited. So if you fancy combining train travel with skiing, don’t delay too long. A great way to discover Le Mourtis without worrying about the road.

Commitment of the Occitanie region

The Occitanie region is strengthening its commitment to sustainable and accessible mobility by renewing its Skirail scheme for the 2025-2026 season. The scheme is proving increasingly successful, with 23,400 passes sold last year, up 30% on the previous year. From 13 December 2025 to 29 March 2026, this combined pass allows winter sports fans to benefit from reductions of up to 70% on the return liO train ticket and the ski lift pass. This year marks a significant extension of the scheme, with the reopening of the Montréjeau-Luchon rail line now providing access to three new Pyrenean resorts: Le Mourtis, Luchon-Superbagnères and Peyragudes, bringing the total number of ski areas served to ten. By offering this economical and ecological solution, the Region is demonstrating its commitment to supporting families’ purchasing power while reducing the environmental impact of mountain tourism, making the mountains accessible to as many people as possible.
