The association Benoît, un sourire pour la vie was born in December 2018 out of deep sorrow transformed into hope and action. Created following the death of Benoît Gistain from peritoneal cancer, it carries with it the desire of his loved ones to give meaning to his loss and perpetuate his memory through an essential fight. Faced with this rare and little-known disease, the association has set itself a clear mission: to support specialist medical research, inform the public and raise awareness of this pathology, and support patients and their families through this difficult ordeal. Every event organised, every euro raised, every gesture of solidarity contributes to advancing science and offering new hope to patients.
Benoît, un sourire pour la vieJoin us on Saturday 11 October 2025 for the Trail Adishatz Cancer, a sporting and solidarity event in the heart of Luchon. The event offers a range of routes to suit all abilities: a 16km trail with 1,336m of ascent for experienced athletes, 10km and 7km hikes for a more leisurely exploration of the Pyrenean countryside, and even a children’s race. All start from the Parc du Casino at 10am.
Much more than just a race, this event supports research into peritoneal cancer. The money raised goes to the Toulouse University Cancer Institute to fund specialist research. The day takes place in a friendly atmosphere, with entertainment, music, burgers prepared by local breeders and a snack offered to participating children.
Registration is compulsory and can only be done online at Miles Republic. A medical certificate is required for the adult trail (participants aged over 20). It’s the perfect opportunity to spend a great day out with the family while helping an important cause, in the exceptional setting of our spa resort at the foot of the Pyrenees.
