For the 2025 festive season, the Musée archéologique départemental de Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges is reopening its doors from 23 December to 2 January to show you the riches of “Lugdunum des Convènes, an ancient capital in the heart of the Pyrenees”. It’s the perfect opportunity to enhance your holiday experience by exploring the fascinating history of this ancient Roman urban centre. Whether you’re staying in the valley before, between or after the celebrations, come and immerse yourself in over two millennia of history.
The museum’s permanent exhibition invites you to explore the exceptional remains of this ancient capital: the temple, the monument with its circular enclosure, the market, the theatre and the baths will no longer hold any secrets for you. New for this winter closure: the first issues of the Biscoto newspaper devoted to Lugdunum Convenae have been reprinted and are available free of charge at the museum. It’s a great opportunity to extend your visit and take away some inspiring reading about this unique Pyrenean heritage!
