The Histoires & Crapahutes hiking film festival is back for a second season, setting up shop at the Cinéma Rex in Luchon on Thursday 2 October at 8pm. This travelling festival will be criss-crossing France in autumn 2025, stopping off in around 80 towns to share its passion for walking and adventure. Luchon is honoured to host this cultural event, which celebrates travelling and human encounters through documentary film.
The evening offers an immersive three-hour experience, including two and a half hours of screenings, with five films selected for their captivating stories. These documentaries take viewers to the four corners of the globe: from Canada to Nepal, via France, Spain and Ecuador. Beyond the simple trek, these works explore universal themes such as resilience, surpassing oneself and meeting others, offering a truly emotional and sensory journey.
One of the highlights of the festival is the presence on site of one of its creators, who hosts the evening and talks directly to the audience. This enthusiastic film-maker is also co-director of one of the films presented, shot in Ecuador, giving spectators the chance to go behind the scenes of the making of the film and to share an authentic moment based on the values conveyed by these cinematographic adventures.
The screening will take place on Thursday 2 October at the Cinéma Rex in Luchon. Tickets cost 17 euros full price, 15 euros concessions and 5 euros for under-14s. To find out more about the full programme and watch the trailers for each film, visit the festival website. It’s a great opportunity to get away from it all and follow some extraordinary stories, just a stone’s throw from the Pyrenean trails that inspire so many walkers.
