The Luchon Flower Festival 2025 promises to be an exceptional event celebrating mobility through time. This 122nd edition perpetuates a century-old tradition in the Pyrenean spa town, where every year thousands of visitors come to admire the sumptuous floral parades. The event will take place from 22 to 24 August 2025 in Luchon town centre, transforming the Allées d’Étigny into a veritable spectacle of colour and fragrance.
The theme chosen for this 2025 edition promises to offer a creative reflection on the evolution of means of transport through the ages. From horse-drawn carriages to electric vehicles, from the first automobiles to historic trains, the floats will take an original approach to this theme. This approach will enable float designers to explore different historical periods while celebrating the technological innovations that have revolutionised the way we get around.
In keeping with tradition, the event will bring together many local associations and partners who are working together to create this unique spectacle. Volunteers spend weeks preparing the metal structures and painstakingly gluing together thousands of natural flowers, mainly queen daisies and marigolds. This collective effort testifies to the Luchonnais’ attachment to their festive heritage and their desire to perpetuate this popular tradition.
The festive atmosphere will be provided by the colourful processions of bandas and brass bands that will be livening up the streets of the town throughout the weekend. These traditional musical groups from the south-west of France create a joyous and convivial atmosphere, accompanying the float parades as well as performing in the town’s bars and squares. The festivities culminate in the grand Sunday parade, a veritable flower parade in which the floats parade majestically down the allées d’Étigny, offering spectators an unforgettable spectacle combining floral art, music and Pyrenean conviviality.
