On Thursday 11 December at 8pm, the Rex cinema in Luchon will be hosting an evening of film and discussion around Marc Khanne’s documentary “Cultiver la pluie”. This 75-minute film explores practical solutions to climate change and water management. From Larzac to Cape Verde, via Alsace and Roussillon, the director met farmers, botanists and project leaders who are experimenting with agroforestry, regenerative hydrology and the sponge city concept. With the participation of botanist Francis Hallé, the documentary shows inspiring and pragmatic initiatives, far removed from the alarmist rhetoric.
The screening will be followed by a discussion led by the local group Colibris 31 Luchon et ses vallées. This discussion will provide an opportunity to anchor the film’s reflections in the local and Pyrenean context, by identifying existing practices in the valleys and possible courses of action. An opportunity to extend the evening with a participatory debate and discover the region’s civic initiatives.
Price: 7 euros (cinema season ticket accepted). A cultural and committed evening that reflects the varied programming offered by the Rex cinema, a meeting place for reflection in the heart of Luchon.
