STATUE: THE OTHER’S SHARE

The statue ‘La part de l’autre’ is part of a series of abstract sculptures that the artist calls Distorsions.
In this piece, he explores the interdependence of the fundamental elements – earth, water and air – without which life could not exist.
Two symbolic loops, representing water and air, seem to spring from the rock, the image of the earth. They rise, intertwine and dance in a strange, almost unreal movement, like a ballet suspended between matter and breath.

Mathieu PÉRIÉ, an artist from the Lot region of France, trained as a stonemason in Bordeaux. He began by restoring historic monuments.
