Description

Lien de mémoire represents a donkey, a tribute to the commune’s rural past and the old grain mill located nearby. It turns in circles to power the millstone that grinds the grain and turns it into flour.

Living in the Creuse region of France since 2002, Rob Kirkels draws his inspiration from collective memory and local traditions to create works with a link to the area.
He graduated from the Beaux-Arts in 1991 before training as a stone-cutter in a workshop. He works in stone, wood and iron, and also draws.
