The Patatas Bravas is a Gravel hike organised by the Luchon Triathlon association.
It is a completely autonomous event with no ranking or timing. It is open to Gravel, MTB and VAE bikes, with the exception of road bikes.
The aim is to help you discover our playground.
The routes are on roads, cycle paths, tracks, footpaths and single trails, sometimes with portages. Yes, there are rivers in our beautiful mountains.
Three menus are available:
All the routes have been recognised and covered by the organisers.
– Menu of the day 13 km – D+ 205
– Menu entrée/plat 36 km – D+ 1200 (walk on the “balconies” of Luchon)
– Menu entrée/plat/dessert 85 km – D+ 2100 (between France and Spain at high altitude)
Start and finish at Le Pyrénéen campsite in Salles-et-Pratviel.
The route will be followed solely by GPS with a GPX track provided 48 days beforehand. Participants must respect the highway code, pay attention to the weather, report an abandonment and behave responsibly towards herds and guard dogs.
The programme provides for the reception to open at 6.30am, the first departure at 7.00am and the meal to open at 12.30pm.
Participation is open to all, but you must be over 18 for the 85 km, and everyone must be in good physical condition.
It is compulsory to wear a helmet, carry a charged GPS, a water supply, a repair kit, personal supplies, a charged telephone, a survival blanket and proof of identity. The event is eco-responsible and rubbish must be disposed of in the designated areas.
Registration includes: the GPX track, a start drink, a gift, a meal and refreshments at the finish.
The fee is 28 euros for all routes.
Under-15s can take part free of charge (meal not included).
