TOUR OF THE EXHIBITION “À L’INTÉRIEUR DU ROCHER” BY ARTISTS EDOUARD DECAMP AND THÉOPHILE SEYRIG

Imagine an echo between space and time: by observing a rock like marble, a resonance appears. This stone is a mountain, a material for sculpture, and a quarry criss-crossed by galleries. Extraction gives rise to a narrative. Industry extracts, archaeology exhumes, art diverts.
The material becomes the story.
Matter becomes history: interpreted forms tell the story of our present through fiction.
To show these intersections is to document, to take away, to install. A stage where the photograph captures the trace: linking an artefact to its origin, producing imprints of time, exposing a rock that catches the light.
A partnership between the Chapelle Saint- Jacques Centre d’art contemporain and the Musée archéologique départemental.
