CYCLOMONTAGNARDE LUCHON-BAYONNE

You’ll tackle the Col de Peyresourde: a long descent will take you to Arreau, capital of the Vallée d’Aure. The 13km Col d’Aspin may seem a little long, but the refreshments will reward you. At Sainte-Marie-de-Campan and its green valley, the Tourmalet begins, a very big obstacle, 18 km long and with gradients of 7-14%. At its summit, after 38 km of descent, you’ll recover as far as Argelès-Gazost. The Col du Soulor is 20km further up, and the Col d’Aubisque will be a mere formality from there. There’s still 180 km to go from Béarn to the Basque country, via the Col d’Osquich and a few hills that will take you to Bayonne, where you’ll be treated to a well-deserved snack.
