A weekend of discovering the big-eared companions and the Oueil valley will immediately impress you with its contrasts: to the south, its bare steep slopes and to the north, its forest.
The first overnight stay, the night before departure, is not compulsory but highly recommended so that we can meet, talk, get to know each other and anticipate the next day’s departure (overnight stay on reservation and extra charge, contact us).
During the stay, the overnight stay will be in a small hut, which will welcome us with simplicity or nearby in a “comfort” Bivouac in base camp mode.

As a reminder, a hut is an open, shared space, with no reservations and no running water or electricity. Just remember to pack a good duvet, and we’ll take care of the rest!

Day 1:
It all starts with a meeting with our big-eared friends. You’ll find out what a bat is, how it’s loaded and how to manage these strange animals, which are said to have a bad temper! We’ll prepare them together and set off along the easy “Passejade” path (a walk in Occitan) towards Mont Né, the highest point in the valley.
Picnic on the way. After a climb of around 500 metres on an old herd track, we reach the Mont Né Refuge at 1840 metres. Set up a bivouac (tent or hut), look after the animals…
Day 2 :
Preparation of the animals, loading and a day on the ridge in the middle of the green mountain pastures occupied by Tarasconnaise ewes and Gascon cows. We will then descend to the bottom of the Oueil valley, where we will return to the village of Cires for a bite to eat at the auberge. We will then take a leisurely walk along the Passejade back to Mayregne.
Return to the vehicles at the end of the afternoon.
