MAIRIE

Saint-Aventin stretches from the Larboust valley in the north to the Spanish border in the south, at the Pic de Sacroux, the highest point in the commune at 2,676 metres. Most of the Superbagnères ski area is within the Saint-Aventin municipality.
The commune covers a vast and varied area of 17 km2, which is popular with tourists. It includes the village with its church, which has been a listed building since 1840, various typical hamlets – “Les Granges de Gourron”, “les Courbets”, “Plan du Lys” and “Cabilat” – a protected wooded area and the Superbagnères ski resort.
Part of the commune is protected as a natural and urban site: La Chapelle de Saint-Aventin and its surroundings since 03/11/1944.
