MONT-DE-GALIE

MAIRIE

Small village of the Frontignes, it owes its name to the knights of Mont who in the XIIIth century were the lords of Galié.
Remarkable elements
Lintel on the wall of the entrance door of the church, coming from the old chapel reworked in the XVII or XVIIIth century. The sculpture would represent St Vincent, patron saint of the village, carrying a book in his left hand, a vase in the other, at his feet, probably a demon. This group is framed by a floral motif and fleur-de-lys (attachment to the king).
Old water supply system dating from the 19th century, designed in tiers (near the wash-house, at the top of the village)
Door (late Gothic, 16th century) in marble (rue du Castèth)
