This is a pleasant route for getting back into the swing of things. The scenery is pleasant and varied, and you’ll be following the cycle path between Cierp-Gaud and Izaourt. There is a short but steep climb when you reach Montréjeau.
You set off from the car park at Luchon station to reach the village of Cierp-Gaud and then Saint-Bertrand de Comminges. Continue on to Montréjeau, where a short climb awaits you, before reaching the banks of the Garonne at Gourdan Polignan. Follow the Garonne through Pointis-de-Rivière and head for Martres-de-Rivière. Your route continues via Barbazan and Loures-Barousse. You can then take the opposite route back to Luchon station. A special feature of this itinerary is that for a few kilometres you’ll be following a cycle path.
