52 – PÉQUERIN FOOTBRIDGE AND CASTEL VIELH TOWER

Trail accessible in winter.
A Nepalese bridge 50m above the torrent at the gates of Luchon! The footbridge, inaugurated in 2017, replaces the one destroyed by the floods in 2013, and links the 2 banks of the river at a length of 35 metres. The footbridge spans the Pique, which at this point emerges from the Marie-Louise chasm 50 metres above the gorge.

Description

Start behind the Thermes (path no. 52), cross the route de Superbagnères, approach the Tour de Castel-Vielh and climb down to reach the footbridge.
