30 – CIRQUE DE LA GLÈRE VIA THE CHEMIN DE L’IMPÉRATRICE

Road closed from 30/11 to 15/04, path inaccessible.
From the Hospice de France, the kingdom of the hike, you can reach the cirque de la Glère by taking the chemin de l’Impératrice.
More experienced hikers can continue on to other ports and summits (please note that a map is essential, as there are no signposts).

Description

Start opposite the inn, cross the Pont de Penjat and then turn right onto the path entering the forest. As you head uphill, you come to the cirque de la Glère.
Although not really dangerous, the handrail may frighten some climbers. The cable is there to reassure them.
