Fos 6th Arts Week from 19 to 27 July 2025

Fos

From 19 to 27 July 2025

In the heart of the Saint-Béat valley, the picturesque village of Fos invites you to discover its 6th Arts Week, an exceptional cultural event that transforms the village’s streets and squares into a veritable open-air gallery. Organised by the association “Les arts en Occitania y Val d’Aran”, this unique event brings together artists from a wide range of backgrounds for a whole week: painters, sculptors, musicians and craftspeople take over the village to showcase their creations and bring art in all its forms to life at the gateway to Spain’s Val d’Aran.

The arts in Occitania and Val d'Aran

The brainchild of two passionate Pyrenean artists, Marie Pénétro (a painter from Fossé) and Jean-Jacques Abdallah (a sculptor from the Hautes-Pyrénées), this initiative is part of an ambitious cross-border approach. Drawing on the experience gained from previous arts festivals in the Pyrenees, the organising team has created an authentic event that showcases the local heritage while opening up the valley to European artistic influences. The association works actively to promote artists and the cultural development of these mountain regions.

This artistic week is distinguished by its convivial and accessible dimension, allowing the public to meet the creators directly in their ephemeral workshops set up in the village. Exhibitions, concerts, arts and crafts demonstrations and educational activities punctuate these days dedicated to contemporary creation. The event also encourages cross-cultural exchanges thanks to its cross-border vocation, creating artistic bridges between France and Spain in an exceptional mountain setting.

More than just an exhibition, the Semaine des Arts de Fos is a real tourist and cultural highlight for the region, attracting visitors and art lovers to this unspoilt valley in the central Pyrenees. It’s the perfect opportunity to discover or rediscover Fos and the surrounding area, while enjoying a rich and varied artistic programme in a remarkable natural and heritage setting. It’s a not-to-be-missed event for anyone with a passion for Pyrenean art and culture.
