Description

He raises his right hand in a gesture of blessing, while his left hand holds the Gospel. Around him is the Tetramorph: an angel for Saint Matthew, a lion for Saint Mark, an ox for Saint Luke and an eagle for Saint John.
This remarkable composition, listed as a Historic Monument on 9 November 1906, is considered to be the founding work of the Comminges sculpture workshop. It marks the apogee of Romanesque art in the region.
