The theme of this year’s Festival des Rencontres Lyriques is “illusions”.
– Saturday 9 August at 9pm – Saint-Béat-Lez church: Opening concert – Oratorio “À l’ombre de ton œil” with reciters, choir, orchestra and video mapping (monumental projections on the walls).
– Sunday 10 August at 9:30 am – Moulin des Arts: Opening of the week-long opera singing course “Vocal Technique and Interpretation”.
6pm – Moulin des Arts: “Aphorismes” exhibition.
– Monday 11 August at 5pm – Moulin des Arts: Public group workshop on “Posture and the ventilatory mechanics of the singer”.
– Tuesday 12 August at 9.30am – Moulin des Arts: “Body Awakening” workshop.
6pm to 9pm – Moulin des Arts: “Même en songe, sévérité” writing workshop with a shared meal (bring your own).
Writers Léonie Casthel and Oriane Krief invite you to explore the festival’s theme by de-body-tiquing language and words. With your style and a pen, let the sounds deceive you, disguise your pen and surprise yourself! Come and express your comic or tragic illusions, your acoustic pareidolia, your most beautiful optical disillusions or the misfortunes of disenchanted fairies. With your unique two-way voice, indulge in phantasmagoria… between fantasy and allegory, let your dreams wander. But fantasy itself needs structure, something that lasts. As Cocteau said: “Mes mensonges c’est vérité, même en songe, sévérité”.

at 3pm: “Poetic and musical analysis of French melodies” laboratory.
– Thursday 14 August all day from 9.30 am – Moulin des Arts: Lyric singing course open to the public “Vocal technique and interpretation”.
– Friday 15 August at 4.30pm – Moulin des Arts: Group workshop open to the public “Posture, ventilatory mechanics of the singer”.
– Saturday 16 August at 6.30pm – Moulin des Arts: Concert at the end of the lyric singing course with the students.
Festival pass: opening concert + access to all activities (except children’s activities, workshops and catering): €20.
