Marialine Jorelle, an artist originally from Normandy, comes from a family of craftsmen specialising in the manufacture of wooden games. She inherited a passion for drawing and painting from her mother, which she now passes on to her grandchildren.
Opening on Saturday 7 March at 6.30pm.
As a self-taught artist, her artistic journey began with almost monochrome works, known as “the Blues”, before turning to the colourful exuberance of “Masaïs”. She then ventured into more contemporary painting, using street art on palettes, fusing elements of tattooing and tagging. Her work highlights her admiration for women, placing them at the centre of her creations. Marialine firmly believes that art can help to advance the place of women in society. With her first exhibition, she demonstrates with passion and sincerity that her artistic adventure has only just begun.
