Description

Would you like to discover the mountains in a different way? Put your trust in Pyrénées Liberté! Philippe LEGRAND, a former High Mountain Rescuer and member of the Peloton de Gendarmerie de Haute Montagne (High Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon), offers a wide range of activities and outings in both summer and winter in the Pyrenees.

Excursions on dual-motor all-terrain electric scooters, fitted with fat tyres for optimum grip and safety on all types of terrain. Supervised by a qualified instructor from Pyrénées Liberté, these fun outings take you through spectacular scenery, in summer and winter alike.

Downhill on a mountain all-terrain scooter, on trails through high meadows and forest, from the Mourtis resort to Saint-Béat or Fos. It’s a 12-kilometre descent with 900 metres of vertical drop, lasting between 2.00 and 2.30 hours. Enjoy a hike unlike any other in the Pyrenees.

Accessible from the age of 10, with all-terrain scooters suitable for children.

Airboarding is a winter activity that takes place on an inflatable sledge, which is very easy to handle. In just a few minutes, you’ll have mastered the sledge and be able to enjoy the sensations in complete safety.

This mountain outing takes place on suitable slopes with untouched snow.

With snowshoes, we’ll help you discover the snow-covered mountains in a friendly atmosphere, with the pleasure of making your own tracks in an unspoilt area, in complete freedom. A fun activity for all, young and old! He’ll show you how to build an improvised bivouac or even an igloo. You’ll learn about the snowpack and how avalanches are triggered. With your snowshoes on, you’ll be transformed into “Trappers”, “Coureurs des Bois” à la Jack London, to identify animal tracks and picnic in a cabin isolated from civilisation. And why not continue with a torchlit night hike, with mulled wine in front of the fire in a mountain hut. Unforgettable winter scenery guaranteed with our snowshoe hikes.

Introduction to avalanche search with dog handler near Luchon

A former High Mountain Rescuer with the Pelotons de Gendarmerie de Haute Montagne (PGHM) and Head of a Mountain Rescue Caravan, he puts his vast experience of the mountains and safety at the service of others. He will show you how to use the avalanche transceiver (DVA) and the techniques involved, with the help of exercises. He will also show you how to use an avalanche probe and shovel. He can also set up a full-scale avalanche search exercise with the necessary equipment. We can also arrange for an avalanche dog handler to come and introduce you to his dog and his job, and show you a live avalanche search using his dog.

Organisation of mountain bike tours around Fos in the Pyrenees
